We recommend a minimum of 3 nights/4 days (Friday-Monday) for matches in European championships, because the exact match date can be set later, at any point within this window. For Europa League or Champions League matches, where the date is fixed, we recommend a minimum of 2 nights/3 days. A football match is, in itself, a one-day event — the longer stay is a safety margin for scheduling. Tickets can be transferred, sometimes with a cost, sometimes without.
